Celebrate Polish Culture at the 2025 Sweetest Heart of Mary Pierogi Festival

Detroit’s vibrant heritage comes alive once again at the beloved Sweetest Heart of Mary Pierogi Festival, returning August 8–10, 2025. Hosted by the historic Sweetest Heart of Mary Church, this festival promises a weekend full of rich tradition, delicious food, and family-friendly fun.

Friday Night Preview – August 8 | 5–10 p.m.

Kick off the weekend with a lively Friday Night Preview in the beer tent, featuring Polish cuisine from Polish Village Café and Srodek, and live music by the Polish Muslims. The grill will also be open for more casual eats. Don’t miss the Tatry Dancers at 5:45 p.m. and live music from 6:30–9:30 p.m.

Saturday, August 9 | 12–9 p.m.

Saturday’s festivities begin at noon with music by the Steve Drzewicki Band, followed by a full schedule of performances and cultural events, including:

  • Church Lecture/Tour at 2:30 p.m.
  • Reverent Polka Mass at 4 p.m.
  • Halka Dancers and a Fashion Show – Polish Designs in the late afternoon
  • Evening music from the Kielbasa Kings beginning at 6 p.m.

Sunday, August 10 | 12–5 p.m.

with Holy Mass at 10 a.m.

The celebration continues Sunday with a 10 a.m. Holy Mass, followed by live music from New Brass Express, performances from the Wawel Dancers, and additional lectures, tours, and blessings throughout the afternoon. Raffle drawings, including the Grand Raffle, will begin at 4:30 p.m.

W miesiącu maju zapraszamy na Nabożeństwa Majowe we wtorki (E) i środy (P) zaraz po Mszach Św. o godz. 6:30 PM, natomiast w piątki (P) o godz. 6:00 PM. Koronacja figury Najświętszej Maryi Panny będzie w piątek 2 maja zaraz po Mszy Św. o godz. 6:30 pm.

May Devotion and Crowning

The May devotions will be celebrated: on Tuesdays (E), Wednesdays (P) after 6:30 p.m. Masses and on Fridays at 6:00 pm (P). Crowning of the Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary will take place May 2 after the 6:30 p.m. Mass

December 7, 2024 – Visit with Saint Nicholas (Santa Claus)

Mark your calendars! All children are invited to a special visit with St. Nicholas on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM, in the church hall.

Event Details:
This fun and festive event is organized by the St. John Paul II Polish Language and Culture School, but participation is open to all children — you don’t need to be enrolled in the school to join the celebration!

What’s Included?

  • A gift from St. Nicholas
  • Snack and lunch for the children
  • Free entry for parents/guardians!
